*Project Pagani Zonda C12*Veyron 10-28-2005, 08:32 AM This will be a diecast conversion...yes I said the D-werd...but it's the only game in town for a 1/24 Pagani. The proportions of the body are good and so is the size. The interior is good enough to work with too but the rims are too small, my pics are shown with Corvette C6 rims because they are bigs and littles, always a pain to find rims for these type cars. I'm looking forward to stripping off the super thick paint and fixing the panel lines. The doors and engine cover will be glued permanently shut. I will find a striking color for it and a nice set of rims. http://infinite1der.org/~dino/pagdie1.jpg http://infinite1der.org/~dino/pagdie2.jpg http://infinite1der.org/~dino/pagdie3.jpg http://infinite1der.org/~dino/pagdie4.jpg http://infinite1der.org/~dino/pagdie5.jpg http://infinite1der.org/~dino/pagdie6.jpg Merkava 10-28-2005, 08:50 AM Cool. Very cool. It's a good thing you chose a Pagani, or we might have to banish you for using diecast. Only joking! I know your builds always turn out as stunners, and this shall be no different! bkvj 10-28-2005, 08:51 AM I'm looking forward to stripping off the super thick paint and fixing the panel lines. I had old bits of pc's, monitors and dead pcb boards all over the place... Looked just like what you have, old bits of models, built kits in the background.. You are REALLY into this hobby.. I dread to think what your yearly out goings are for model building.. skill comes at a price I guess.. good luck with fixing up a die cast.. I've seen some of your older die cast re-makes.. This should be good. bigfrit 10-28-2005, 09:07 AM Banninate him! Oli the plastic Nazi. honestly, keep us updated all the way, pally, I wanna keep an eye on this project sir! sjelic 10-28-2005, 09:23 AM This is the true example that one modeler can not (ever) be happy with plastic/resin offer :D Keep it up it will be stunner for sure ;) klutz_100 10-28-2005, 12:32 PM cool idea! :bigthumb: willimo 10-28-2005, 12:58 PM Cool! I think the Corvette rims are a perfect match, to be honest. I am looking forward to seeing your treatment on this awesome car. What's up with the rear panel? Is the clear plastic their version of mesh or what? Veyron 10-28-2005, 01:05 PM Cool! I think the Corvette rims are a perfect match, to be honest. I am looking forward to seeing your treatment on this awesome car. What's up with the rear panel? Is the clear plastic their version of mesh or what? Yes, it's clear plastic and actually quite well done, except for their method of finishing it. ZoomZoomMX-5 10-28-2005, 04:24 PM Wow, those Corvette rims are awesome! The rest of that model is ugly as sin :evillol: Just like the real car :uhoh:  We'll see if this pig can be saved via the Veyron Overhaul. I'll stop now before comparing this thing to some rather sensitive female anatomy  WasteGas 10-28-2005, 04:49 PM ooo i can't wait to see what you conjure up with this one :) D_LaMz 10-28-2005, 04:53 PM nice! builderweave 10-28-2005, 05:04 PM i'm positive he'll do this car justice! what color? any ideas? what about carbon fiber? http://weaverwebsite.com/model cars/zonda.jpg Veyron 10-28-2005, 05:08 PM i'm positive he'll do this car justice! what color? any ideas? what about carbon fiber? http://weaverwebsite.com/model cars/zonda.jpg Naw, I honestly don't think a 1/24 carbon C12 would be all that striking, I'll use some Cobra Colors Lambo color prolly. deltableh 10-28-2005, 05:44 PM I'll give my standard answer: Alclad II Prismatic paints. Spray the entire bottle on that thing; with all the cuts and folds and rolls, it will look AWESOME. Veyron 10-28-2005, 06:45 PM I'll give my standard answer: Alclad II Prismatic paints. Thanks for the suggestion, but I could live without ever seeing another color shift paint job. builderweave 10-28-2005, 06:56 PM Thanks for the suggestion, but I could live without ever seeing another color shift paint job. i'm with you on the color shift paints. you said lambo colors. are you referring to the bright orange and green colors? Veyron 10-28-2005, 07:17 PM i'm with you on the color shift paints. you said lambo colors. are you referring to the bright orange and green colors? Lambo has many colors, I'm a bit burned out on orange and yellow I think... so I don't know, I'll just have to shop around. You can look at all the Lambo colors here: www.cobracolors.com freakray 10-28-2005, 07:41 PM Nice to see you're starting something new Brian :) blubaja 10-28-2005, 07:58 PM Cool man! If you are going to use a lambo color, I think it shouldn't be stock. Mix things up. Good luck. amusegt1 10-28-2005, 08:03 PM hope it turns out good!! btw.......what brand makes this diecast pagani? Veyron 10-28-2005, 08:07 PM hope it turns out good!! btw.......what brand makes this diecast pagani? It's made by Motor Max. 2.2 Straight six 10-29-2005, 05:52 AM i think the carbon would look pretty cool, but you know, its not my model. its cool you're being ambitios here, i think it'll be a good conversion. if you want to add an engine look for a tamiya mercedes 600, there's the CL an a couple of S-class ones, pagani use mercedes 6.0litre V12s, they might be more than 6.0litre but in pretty sure its the same engine, if you want pics of the model engine just ask, i have one. ZoomZoomMX-5 10-29-2005, 07:43 AM All sarcastic joking from me aside :uhoh: I think the car would look pretty sinister in a very dark color or black. The odd pod-like cockpit sort of stands out, and not in a good way, kinda like a Grand Am series racer. Unless C/F were applied perfectly, which would be a frightful job on this car, it would look pretty bad w/even a few wrinkles. I have to agree w/Veyron about the color-shifting paint. That stuff was originally intended for graphics, not entire bodies. Next thing you know...I think I'll stop now  But y'know what...this thing would look pretty wicked (the first 5 letters of the car are Pagan, y'know :p ) if it were rendered in color-shifting C/F. Veyron 11-06-2005, 11:13 AM Stripped off the very thick paint which revealed some nice detail but also some nasty mold lines and ill fitting parts. Had to file a lot of metal away at the leading edge of the door to get them flush with the fenders and lower body work. The body will requre a bit of putty to clean up the mold lines, then I will epoxy the doors and engine cover shut and begin work on the panel lines. http://infinite1der.org/~dino/paganifile1.JPG http://infinite1der.org/~dino/paganifile2.JPG http://infinite1der.org/~dino/paganifile3.JPG http://infinite1der.org/~dino/paganifile4.JPG robrex 11-06-2005, 05:03 PM Cool! I can't wait to see the colour go on! Captain Mark 11-06-2005, 10:39 PM I'm getting hooked on this build... I can't wait for the colour... klutz_100 11-07-2005, 04:44 AM really interesting for me to see this kind of thread coming together. I've heard about diecast wrok but never actually seen what's involved - thanks from me for sharing :bigthumb: bigfrit 11-07-2005, 05:44 PM Make that two!
