Exhaust manifold

I need a new ex manifold for my 2000 1.5L, I've heard its common for them to crack. Also my inner tie rods are getting sloppy, looks like a biatch to get the tie rods off. I must say tho, this little car is easy to work on, I used to be a mechanic until my back blew out.

The later 1.5s are not nearly as prone to manifold cracking as the 93-96 1.5s were. The 97-up is more like a tubular header, the 93-96 is cast and cracks on the backside up the middle.Inner tie rods are no problem. You just need to release the boot from the steering rack end,and then the inner end of the rods are exposed.

Thanks for that info but that car is long gone, I sold it for $200 more than I paid :grinyes: I bought a 97 Ford Aspire, the Ford is much easier for me to work on and gets better mileage.
