I know that they both have the same 1.6-liter 106-horsepower engine, so what is the difference in options? i don't need every single little detail; i just want a general idea about thre differences. maybe i don't need a dx afterall.

A DX, (96), has a low fuel light, a rear window wiper on a hatchback and a fairing above the rear window that matches the car paint on a hatchback. A CX, (96), has no light, no rear wiper & the fairing is smaller & only comes in black. There are probably many more little things like that that won't make much difference if U got'em or not but they make it an upgraded model to charge more for.

I went to another forum to find out more about the differences between a dx and cx EK hatchback. I was told the following:

"dx's come with tachs and some cx's do as well but not all. i guess it was an option or something. cx's also do not come with power steering and i believe also no rear speakers"

Is what this person said true?

My civic is a 99 dx and has no tach and trust me it blows.
