1998 taurus 3.0 se single cam HIGH IDLE

Anyone have this problem with high idle. Engine has new heads/head gaskets, thermostat is new as well. can the cam sensor cause a high idle problem? also there is no under hood label stating what curb idle should be. Does anybody have ford taurus problems that are simular, any ideals? Thanks for any help or suggestions......

The idle on this car is not adjustable, it is controled by the ECM via idle air control valve that is located under a black plastic cover near the throttle body. When they go bad they most often cause low idle and stalling in gear. If your idle is high you may have a vauum leak somewhere or a bad pcv valve.
