I own a 95 K2500 that when starting up , now that its getting cold outside, it doesnt run worth a darn until up to temperature (200-210). It feels like its hitting a rev limiter at around 2000 rpm's and loses all power and sputters. The exhaust at this time also gives out a distinct odor.

Things that have been done
1. New cap, rotor, wires, plugs
2. New Holley TBI unit, factory replacement from jegs
3. fuel pressure tested o.k. at the pump
4. knock sensor replaced
This all developed when I changed the throttle body, and all work was performed @ a shop in my hometown. Im tired of forking out money to this guy, so Im open to suggestions.

It sounds like the same I had with my truck a while back and it was just the fuel filter. They cost less than $10, so if it's not the filter you're not out much. If it is, then saved a lot compared to what shops charge for labor:)

Whenever you do ANY after market upgrade, the computer needs to "relearn" or adjust to the new stuff. So, disconnect the batt ground for an hour or two or overnight and see what happens. Otherwise with the "odor" it sounds like the new TBI is running way too rich?? Could also be o2 sensors. Hope this helps..............Steve

You've probably got this fixed by now but it's probably the cat.
