No Heat

I have a '96 JGC Larado and the heat does not work. I have flushed out the cooling system, including the heater core. Could the problem lie in the control knobs itself or is it something like the mixer flap. I went to a mechanic and he said that on the flap there were 2 small motors that move the flap back and forth, and those could have possibly gone out. Help

have you tried to check the HVAC Codes?
put the key in the ON position (furthest forward without cranking the engine), hold the AC and RECIRC buttons in while turning the temp control know 1 click clockwise, "00" should be displayed, while this is displayed push either the AC or RECIRC button the stickman will appear indicating you have enter the fault section. The numbers displayed will be between 00 and 64.
Post your results and we will let you know of the meaning of the codes (if any).

Also on my jeep i do not have a display screen like some of the others. The screen in mine jsut shows what 4 wheel its in and as far as i can see a low coolant light, which is not on.

the codes should flash in the Digital Readout on the Heater control unit (on Automatic Tempature Control systems). hummm I am not sure where they would be stored on the ZJ's without the ATC system.
Code 54 - Door travel range was too large. Mode Door Feedback Circuit.
Code 56 - Door travel range was too large. Blend air door actuator drive circuit.

Yea but i dont have a digital readout but i know what you are talking about. Do you think if i took it to auto zone or a place like that, that they could find out. Thanks
