i have a 1993 camry with about 33,000 miles on it. i just had the two serpentine belts changed about a month ago, and recently, when i start the car up every now and then, there is a hideous screeching noise for a few seconds until i put it in drive. anyone know what this might be? i really appreciate the help.

One of the belts has probably stretched out a bit and is a bit loose. As the belts turn they heat up a bit from the friction and then grab a bit better. That's probably why the screeching goes away. Take it back to whoever replaced the belts and have them take a look.
