92 Chevy C1500 W/Rough IdleRudyfastcat 10-24-2005, 12:49 AM I have a 1992 Chevy C1500 w/ 4.3L(V6) and manual trans. My truck just developed a rough idle this week . My problems originaly started when my EGR went bad and I replaced it about 2 weeks ago. I replaced it and the solenoid with an after market one (Auto Zone) and found that the problem got worse I eventually bought a AC Deloco OE EGR & solenoid and all seemed well until this week when I started feeling the idle a little rough, Now I have gone ahead a replaced the Dist.(cap & rotor too), plugs, wires, coil and IAC and still nothing has changed. I have even chaged the sparkplugs and wires twice just in case and still nothing has chnged. I still have good power and I do not notice any problems while driving just while sitting at idle or in nutral (no boging) Is there somthing that I am missing ???? Please help slythee 11-01-2005, 10:02 AM I have a '93 and have experience this also. Here's what I've noticed: The idle is smooth when the engine is cold. I also notice the volt meter sitting on about 13.99 volts. However, when it heats up, the volts meter drops and the rough idle gets worse. I wonder if this is an charging problem because the volt meter bounces when I turn on my blinker or witpers. I have also replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, & coil, but you mentioned the EGR. Where is this because I don't find one on my truck? Rudyfastcat 11-01-2005, 03:49 PM I have a '93 and have experience this also. Here's what I've noticed: The idle is smooth when the engine is cold. It has two bolts that mount to the intake I looked last night and can't seem to see what exactly is getting recirculated. It seems to be hooked up to itself. My Chilton Manual sucks and doesn't show a good veiw of how its connected. Do you know where I can find this? slythee 11-07-2005, 01:07 PM I replaced the EGR and finally figured out it was all hooked up correctly. Still runs rough. Maybe I'll replace that thing distributer. jwb318 11-08-2005, 12:19 AM Have you checked to see if you have a weak coil ? slythee 11-08-2005, 08:52 AM Have you checked to see if you have a weak coil ?
