Its funny how you tell that they will take it down, but you don't even know the engine specs...

I don't like the car. Few nice design features here and there, but overall, it is like a parody on R34. The roofline is weird.

I don't like the whole greenhouse/roofline either. I think that probably will be changed to something more tradition for the production car thou. Nissan also needs to clean up the front facia a little. Way too many openings...

I love it! Probably would feel different if it were something other than a GT-R prototype, the design is a bit busy with so many disparate grille openings but that's the way they did the GT-R 34 and it is fairly unique, though the EVO X prototype has a similar grille. I hated the '01 car but I really like it now, just took awhile to get used to the vertical headlights. There is no doubt to any enthusiast what this car is. I'm not liking the C pillar area, but that will probably be toned down. This thing looks badass, and that's exactly what the GT-R should look like. Can't wait to get a kit of it.

Put in perspective, this thing thoroughly spanks Italdesign's incredibly lame Ferrari GG50 prototype also show in Tokyo. This looks like what a GT-R should look like, the GG50 is a poor excuse for a Ferrari.

I like the overall look. I agree with most, the roof looks a bit off, like it wants to be a hatchback, but didn't quite make it.

Now we wait for the important details like engine, drivertrain, release date for the US, and, most importantly, price.

I think it's a promising start. Although the changes were subtle, the 350Z was cleaned up nicely between the prototype and the production model, and the GT-R will be the same. What I'm curious now is how quick it can lap the Nurburgring.

BTW, take a look at the crowd (press most likely).

I like the look of the roof line to the trunk lid and the rear pannels, I see alot of the old R34. (as it were that old :icon16:)

Bob, don't forget that GG50 is a one-off show car, when GT-R is a future production model. But I agree that GG50 is pretty lame...

This GT-R is still a one-off concept, but fairly close to production specs, like they did w/the gold Z car concept preceding the production version (I hated the Z car at first...now I love it). They'll likely clean up the GT-R and by then people will be acclimated enough that it should get pretty good reviews. Some of my favorite cars are very polarizing in design, while many love it, many do not. I think Nissan did pretty well w/the GT-R considering what it is, and what it is to the company.

The GG50 is one of the most disappointing concepts I've ever seen in my life :disappoin :screwy: :banghead:

It will definitely be sold in the US but I think the word they are using is North America so Canada should get some too.

The rear window looks as if it were taken straight from a Ford Maverick. I'll like it a lot more when I get a kit of it from Tamiya (That I likely won't build based on my track record for 2005!)

It seems like the designers might've tried too hard to make it look like the last GT-R but also have it succeed the V35 Skyline. I think its cool and all but mebbe if they put a bit more realism into it, it'd be better. for example, no production car has that much exposed CF, no production car has the bumper and fenders meet that far back into the body, no production has that fugly of a greenhouse, etc. For a car that's should be out for 2007, they got some stuff to clean up. However, i see a badass production car comin outta this concept and i think if someone took an R34 and a V35 kit, a pretty cool What-Nissan-Should-Do kinda model could be made

The front end has elements of the recent Eclipse concept car.

Ugly... too much of a radical change. the car looks almost nothing like the beautiful Skyline of the past. too much concept and not enough tradition.

When's the Infiniti version coming out

Personally I friggin LOVE it. The c-pillar and roofline is like the 350z, only it works better because of the shape of the quarter panel. Those who know me know I have no particular love for ANY Skyline made in the last 20 years, but I've fallen in love with this thing.

FWIW, the black area in the a-pillar, and many of the other small details, are actually carbon fibre and will likely be body colour on the production version. The a-pillar kinda threw me off as well, but I think it'll look a lot better with normal colour.
