96 accent timing belt changejoe45 10-17-2005, 06:45 PM I changed the timing belt in my car this weekend and in the process may have screwed up. I removed the dampner pully from the crank shaft I could not find a timing mark. The one on the cam was easy but the crank I had to put a mark on with a pen. After assembly I turned the engine over manually 4 times and everything seemed fine. I got it out on the road and it seems like it lost some power. When going up a hill it will down shift into 3rd but it does't seem to pull like it used to. Could the belt be off by a tooth? If so where is the mark on the crank? joe45 10-19-2005, 09:37 PM Ok can some one tell me this. If take off the inspection cover on the cam line up the mark where should the timing mark on the dampner pully be? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
