How many illegal imports do they bring in every year? How do they do it? I heard they import the cars in parts, reassemble them and register them as kit cars. What are they doing and have they ever been caught?

And you're also the guy I talked to about the Chaser? You dont get my situation. I want a Mark II bad, but I want it legitly. I want to be able to own it legally without the concern of the law confiscating the car. And the only legit way is the 25 year rule, but I dont want to wait that long and who does. Finding the car you want and the condition of it is a big issue when its 25 years or older. Canada is the soonest way to get it (heres where I wish I knew someone in Canada). What do I do man? Importing a car and storing it there is the only way I can think of getting a car while its still available and in decent shape lgeally without the government sticking their foot up your ass about it. Are there any better plans?

A R.I imports full running cars to make or try to make US compliant.we work in teh same way 1G racing imports there Nobles.

im telling you,this is a legal loop hole untill DOT and EPA changes the laws.i think it will happen cause im not the only one using it.but an AN INDIVIDUAL IS ALLOWED TO PURCAHSE PARTS AND BUILD/ASSEMBLE A VEHICLE.that why we act as a broker on this,i help you find the car,take it apart,i do all the EPA and DOT paperwork.YES even as parts you have to fill out those forms.when all the parst and shells get to the US and at out location,i have the local law enforcment come down and verify the vin and all the paperwork involved with the car to take care of the titling

to explain the kit car. a kit car is made my a manufacturer. ex we will say company SSR ,they sell the car called the DAVID. They make/get all the parts from A to Z to make up the David and they give it to you to assemble. so you will get manufacture certificate of origins and receipts from them .thats what is considered a kit car. but on the other had,you went to another country where the DAVID is a production car,you are allowed to take parts or take apart a DAVID in another country and import those parts. you have the right to build/assemble that car, cause an individual is allowed to be a manufacture of an auto and it doesnt matter if you put it together or have someone else do it.im not going to go to long into this cause soon you will have nismo_power and the rest of his cut and paste crew say its illegal still, even when 1g racing does it.and they will say it has to meet epa and dot and you need a RI,they still cant understand that all that stuff applies when you import a Full running car.Do you need a RI and make a car EPA and DOT legal, YES if you are importing a full running car to be 50 state legal.cause to them if it says skyline its illegal even when we all know the EPA and DOT dont look at make and model they look at it as a FULL running non US car that hasnt been converted. And like i say it applies to full running cars trying to be entered in the US

EvolutionImports.com and Japimportsusa.com are two known scam sites.

The first sign is that the only address on the website is a PO Box, something anyone can go to the Post Office and get. They list no physical address for you to go to and confirm their business license.

Second, any importer of non-US vehicles must be a Registered Importer (RI) with the NHTSA and DOT. Here's the list of registered importers:

There is no RI by the name of Evolution Imports or any RI in Orlando for that matter.

Third, they claim to be able to import JDM Integras, Evos, Suburus, etc. Since they are JDM models, they are RHD. NHTSA has a list of non-US vehicles eligible for importation:

If you read that, RHD models are identified on the list. There is only one RHD vehicle on the list as elgible, the Skyline, which Motorex can do. So Evolution Imports is making false claims to import street legal JDM Evos, etc.

Lastly, always check with the Better Business Bureau before dealing with an unknown business, especially on the internet. Here's what comes up when you check on Evolution Imports:

I think it ill be harder to import.remember,these agencies arent getting there pockets filled when we import this stuff.i know EPA is tryig to get the bill passed that you can not import a full motor.yes ,the Yuppie BMW driving tree huging hippies want to stop the companies that import front clips and motors.

I never said I was an RI because I don’t imports full running cars. I have to tell you 100x already, it’s not illegal to import components .and again just because you have a MX car you think you know everything now. You never imported anything in your life. Man it is impossible to import anything. The only way to do it is by doing it illegally if you want to get anything you want. And the DOT, NHTSA, and EPA know there are a lot of illegal cars out there, but they are not making much of an effort to catch them becauce they know its not worth the time. Sean Morris has reported cars to them and they havent done shiznit about it. From hearing other people talking, I am convinced that is the only way to get the car you want. I wanted to wait to get it the legal way but Im tired of waiting and holding out another 13 years to do it through all the legal bullshit. Me and a lot of other people are tired of these strengent and difficult laws trying to do it the right way. If you can get a Mark II easily I might reconsider. But cant you get it any cheaper than what you mentioned on the phone. Technically its not illegal to import a car in parts. Its really not illegal to reassemble it once you have them. It becomes illegal when you attempt to register and title it for road use. So you havent done anything illegal as far as imorting parts go.

we will say on the cheap side 100 a month

so 100 month x 12 months = 1200 year
1200 year x 10 years = 12,000

Yeah thats about what I estimated. I was thinking 10 to 11 thousand. But you are not getting the whole picture. I did not say I was going to import the car as soon as it was 15. I was planning on doing it when I had 5 to 7 years left to bring it in the U.S. at 25. So the car would not be stored for ten years. Even while the car is in Canada it would not be in storage the whole time. I would import it temporarily from time to time and when the year expires, store it for a short time and bring it back in temporarily again. You are allowed up to five years if requested to have a foriegn car in the U.S.

This is what I was trying to do. Wait a couple of years after the car has been elgible for import into Canada by the 15 year rule. Then import the car with 7 years left before it is 25 making the car 18 at the time I import it to Canada. I would import it temporary for a year and request to keep it in for up to 5 years if possible. That would only leave 2 years of storage time for the car in Canada. Thats what I was trying to do. My other plan was to just drive it in for a year and drive it back when the time ran out, then turn around and drive it in for a year again. That way I would avoid storage cost all together but bringing the car in and out the country for seven years is impractical too.

Me and this Kit Car crap?! I'm not the one who tries to use the Kit Car policy to import non-conforming vehicles into the US in parts. That is the "loop-hole" you keep refering to using, so it IS a Kit Car no matter what the title says.

Now, 1GRacing works within the legal limits of the Kit Car policy, which is not a loop hole for them because they perform under the legal limits of that policy. I'm not here to debate where there engines come from or not. They don't install them, which they are not allowed to do under the policy. All of the companies I know of, that provide suitable engines for it, are US emission compliant engines.

As we've been through, I know about box W with EPA, that's for the importation of an engine alone, which doesn't matter, Evolution Imports are providing a completed vehicle. As I'm pointed out, whether you want to call the vehicles Kit Cars on not, the "loop hole" you are using is for the importation of Kit Cars. So they fall under Kit Car regulations... and whether you are an individual or a company, if you assemble the "Kit" for hire or resale, which Evolution Imports does, you're violating the Clean Air Act due to having non-US emission conforming engines:
an individual or firm that assembles kits for hire or resale, that produces assembled kit cars for resale or that produces complete kit car packages for resale will be considered to be a manufacturer of new motor vehicles under the Clean Air Act. Such manufacturers and their vehicles are subject to all applicable regulations under the Act including civil penalties of up to $25,000 per vehicle for each new motor vehicle distributed in commerce, sold, offered for sale, or introduced, or delivered for introduction, into commerce, unless such vehicle is covered by a certificate of conformity issued by EPA.
Additionally, what Evolution Imports (and you) are illegally doing and recommending to customers:
Motor vehicles must comply with the Clean Air Act and may not be disassembled nor purchased in a disassembled form for the purposes of evading the Clean Air Act or the Imports regulations.
Ok, now is when you usually get angry, don't directly answer the issues I've mentioned with fact, but non related importation of an engine alone. Then proceed to call me names, brag about how long and how many illegally imported non-kit cars, but are kit cars for the purpose of importation because that suits you, you have done.

and Mr. know it all, my buddy who has the noble. his motor was imported on box W.he has copies of his 3520,HS7 ,CBP 3461.the turbo charged ford motor 1G uses never came to the US as a Turbo charged motor.you just dont turbo a NA motor, that motor in the noble was made for boost.

Although it's come to my attention that it's likely Apt 634, not a business suite.
Now why would a credible "importer" have 4 different addresses!?

BTW, you can turbo a NA motor, that's what Noble did! That engine was originally NA! Noble beefed up the internals and slapped on a pair of turbos, that's what it means when they call it "Noble Developed."
Additionally, it wasn't a good idea to import the engine, you can get that engine, internals and turbo'd cheaper in the US then purchasing the engine in the UK + shipping, especially with the exchange rate!

Oh, possible interested customers may also like to know that the LLC after Evolution Imports stands for Limited Liability Company, which is:
Type of investment in which a partner or investor cannot lose more than the amount invested. Thus, the investor or partner is not personally responsible for the debts and obligations of the company in the event that these are not fulfilled.

In other words, don't expect to get your money back if the deal goes bad.

So instead of going through all of the trouble of having them do it for you. Why not just import the car to Canada( provided its at least 15) and then drive it in?

I came across some new information anyone interested in purchasing from Evolution Imports should be aware of. Thanks to Senor Info from EvolutionM for the assistance and documents.

Now the best part, Evolution Motors Limited became Evolution Imports, LLC on 20th June, 2002. Evolution Imports is a FOREIGN BASED business! Registered and based from the Island of Nevis in the Caribbean: Evolution Imports - Nevis (http://homepage.mac.com/bryroz/Photos/evollc.gif)
Now there's not only the issue of claiming against an LLC if the deal goes bad.
With this scheme if you want to sue the LLC, it must be done in Nevis under Nevis law which means you need a lawyer that's a Nevis citizen, the suit must be filed within 12 months of the "event," and you need to deposit a $25,000 bond with the court.

What I didn't notice, is... 1 it's a foreign company license. 2 it was revoked on Sep 26, 2003 for failing to file the required annual report.

it seems like someone has a lot of explaining to do, cause it seems like he is getting ripped apart. the records in the BBB is kinda hard to not think about. it seems like 2 out of 6 complaints got resolved. Not a good record. -.- Evolution Import is outta here in my eyes. Kit car or no kit car doesn't seem like people can trust them.

Although it's come to my attention that it's likely Apt 634, not a business suite.
Now why would a credible "importer" have 4 different addresses!?

BTW, you can turbo a NA motor, that's what Noble did! That engine was originally NA! Noble beefed up the internals and slapped on a pair of turbos, that's what it means when they call it "Noble Developed."
Additionally, it wasn't a good idea to import the engine, you can get that engine, internals and turbo'd cheaper in the US then purchasing the engine in the UK + shipping, especially with the exchange rate!

I came across some new information anyone interested in purchasing from Evolution Imports should be aware of. Thanks to Senor Info from EvolutionM for the assistance and documents.

Evolution Imports was originally Evolution Motors Limited, Inc.
Same PO Box based business from Orlando, FL, and Adam Burdette, with the following associated addresses:
1255 Belle Ave Suite 176, Winter Springs FL, 32780 407-688-1324
1521 Sunnyside Drive, Maitland, Fl 32751

Now the best part, Evolution Motors Limited became Evolution Imports, LLC on 20th June, 2002. Evolution Imports is a FOREIGN BASED business! Registered and based from the Island of Nevis in the Caribbean: Evolution Imports - Nevis (http://homepage.mac.com/bryroz/Photos/evollc.gif)
Now there's not only the issue of claiming against an LLC if the deal goes bad.
With this scheme if you want to sue the LLC, it must be done in Nevis under Nevis law which means you need a lawyer that's a Nevis citizen, the suit must be filed within 12 months of the "event," and you need to deposit a $25,000 bond with the court.
