How many illegal imports do they bring in every year? How do they do it? I heard they import the cars in parts, reassemble them and register them as kit cars. What are they doing and have they ever been caught?

Sorry man. No wonder you were defensive about it. I didnt know you did the title work. I called them the other day asking about a 92 toyota Mark II Tourer V. We talked for 10 minutes. The guy made it clear that they title the cars, not register them as kit cars.

Man I suspected that. But I brong it here when I wasnt getting any replies at freshalloy. It seemed like a coincident to get the same answer in two different places. And you're also the guy I talked to about the Chaser? You dont get my situation. I want a Mark II bad, but I want it legitly. I want to be able to own it legally without the concern of the law confiscating the car. And the only legit way is the 25 year rule, but I dont want to wait that long and who does. Finding the car you want and the condition of it is a big issue when its 25 years or older. Canada is the soonest way to get it (heres where I wish I knew someone in Canada). What do I do man? Importing a car and storing it there is the only way I can think of getting a car while its still available and in decent shape lgeally without the government sticking their foot up your ass about it. Are there any better plans?

People say that because they use a P.O. Box with no physical address and thet are not on the NHTSA list of registered importers. And some people here claimed to have stories of people getting ripped off by them. I dont know if they are true though.

im telling you, this is a legal loop hole untill DOT and EPA changes the laws.i think it will happen cause im not the only one using it.but an AN INDIVIDUAL IS ALLOWED TO PURCAHSE PARTS AND BUILD/ASSEMBLE A VEHICLE.that why we act as a broker on this,i help you find the car, take it apart,i do all the EPA and DOT paperwork.YES even as parts you have to fill out those forms.when all the parst and shells get to the US and at out location,i have the local law enforcment come down and verify the vin and all the paperwork involved with the car to take care of the titling

to explain the kit car. a kit car is made my a manufacturer. ex we will say company SSR ,they sell the car called the DAVID. They make/get all the parts from A to Z to make up the David and they give it to you to assemble. so you will get manufacture certificate of origins and receipts from them .thats what is considered a kit car. but on the other had,you went to another country where the DAVID is a production car,you are allowed to take parts or take apart a DAVID in another country and import those parts. you have the right to build/assemble that car, cause an individual is allowed to be a manufacture of an auto and it doesnt matter if you put it together or have someone else do it.im not going to go to long into this cause soon you will have nismo_power and the rest of his cut and paste crew say its illegal still, even when 1g racing does it.and they will say it has to meet epa and dot and you need a RI,they still cant understand that all that stuff applies when you import a Full running car.Do you need a RI and make a car EPA and DOT legal, YES if you are importing a full running car to be 50 state legal.cause to them if it says skyline its illegal even when we all know the EPA and DOT dont look at make and model they look at it as a FULL running non US car that hasnt been converted. And like i say it applies to full running cars trying to be entered in the US

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=293232&highlight=evolution+imports
EvolutionImports.com and Japimportsusa.com are two known scam sites.
The first sign is that the only address on the website is a PO Box, something anyone can go to the Post Office and get. They list no physical address for you to go to and confirm their business license.
Second, any importer of non-US vehicles must be a Registered Importer (RI) with the NHTSA and DOT. Here's the list of registered importers:
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules...st07142004.html
There is no RI by the name of Evolution Imports or any RI in Orlando for that matter.
Third, they claim to be able to import JDM Integras, Evos, Suburus, etc. Since they are JDM models, they are RHD. NHTSA has a list of non-US vehicles eligible for importation:
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules...ELIG071404.html
If you read that, RHD models are identified on the list. There is only one RHD vehicle on the list as elgible, the Skyline, which Motorex can do. So Evolution Imports is making false claims to import street legal JDM Evos, etc.
Lastly, always check with the Better Business Bureau before dealing with an unknown business, especially on the internet. Here's what comes up when you check on Evolution Imports:
http://www.orlando.bbb.org/nis/news...733000012002719
Notice again, no physical address recorded. Also, read under Customer Experience:
Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to unanswered complaint(s).
This is a dead give away of an internet scam site. If you do give them money, where are you going to go to get it back if they never answer you? Nowhere, since you have no physical address.
if your so legit, youll come up with an obvious reason as to why this was posted. prove me/senior members wrong.

why does everyone say that im bitter for paying what i did? im not, because in the end, if the feds come knocking on my door, i have nothing to worry about. youve already said that the cars are sold illegally.
but back to the post. why are you skirting the issue? you didnt answer WHY evo imports doesnt have a physical adress, why theres no RI listed under the name of evo imports, and no RI even listed even in orlando (where they claim to be). and whats with the unsatisfactory record with the BBB? i dont care if people get the cars illegally, but you are plan scamming them...which i do NOT like. and the way that your "selling" the cars, brings alot of attention to the owners. eventually the government will start to search those cars out and wonder why they werent shipped out of the country.

You are so dense; you only see what you want to see! WHERE DID I SAY I IMPORTED THE CAR ILLEGALLY!!!
The address is 403 flomich street, suite 100

I never said I was an RI because I don’t imports full running cars. I have to tell you 100x already, it’s not illegal to import components .and again just because you have a MX car you think you know everything now. You never imported anything in your life. It’s a legal loop hole and that’s how 1g sells the noble also and everyone else that imports this JUNK, cause an INDIVIDUAL (do you even know what that means? Or you have A.D.D and can’t keep your attention on reading for more then a minute) can buy parts and assemble/build a car. Why don’t you answer that question Mr. know it all, because you don’t know how to…You also need to re-read what you are writing cause then you are saying “why they haven’t been exported”. Again you are talking on a full running non US car, it doesn’t apply to parts.
Bottom line is man, you think your the big man on this forum cause you have MX car, wooptie FCUKing doo !!! But at they end who you think majority of the people will listen to, you think they will listen to you when you never imported anything or people that have done it.

Man it is impossible to import anything. The only way to do it is by doing it illegally if you want to get anything you want. And the DOT, NHTSA, and EPA know there are a lot of illegal cars out there, but they are not making much of an effort to catch them becauce they know its not worth the time. Sean Morris has reported cars to them and they havent done shiznit about it. From hearing other people talking, I am convinced that is the only way to get the car you want. I wanted to wait to get it the legal way but Im tired of waiting and holding out another 13 years to do it through all the legal bullshit. Me and a lot of other people are tired of these strengent and difficult laws trying to do it the right way. If you can get a Mark II easily I might reconsider. But cant you get it any cheaper than what you mentioned on the phone. Technically its not illegal to import a car in parts. Its really not illegal to reassemble it once you have them. It becomes illegal when you attempt to register and title it for road use. So you havent done anything illegal as far as imorting parts go.

ok so lets just say that it is ok to import the way evo imports does...It is a kit car, so it is ok to drive and keep and do everything, go get the stickers from DMV and everything right? Its fully legal if you bring it in as a kit car right? o0 is that what your saying liny. I just wanted to know some ifs. -.- I'm not going to do it the illegal way no matter what but I'm just interested in hearing what liny has to say. =)

The cost to store it in Canada until its safe to bring it in is probably cheaper than what you were going to charge me to import the car, dissasemble it and import in pieces, then reassemble it. Can someone give me a estimate of what it would cost to put it in a basic storage unit for 7 to 10 years?

we will say on the cheap side 100 a month
so 100 month x 12 months = 1200 year
1200 year x 10 years = 12,000

Yeah thats about what I estimated. I was thinking 10 to 11 thousand. But you are not getting the whole picture. I did not say I was going to import the car as soon as it was 15. I was planning on doing it when I had 5 to 7 years left to bring it in the U.S. at 25. So the car would not be stored for ten years. Even while the car is in Canada it would not be in storage the whole time. I would import it temporarily from time to time and when the year expires, store it for a short time and bring it back in temporarily again. You are allowed up to five years if requested to have a foriegn car in the U.S.
nitrous36
10-20-2005, 07:57 PM
This is what I was trying to do. Wait a couple of years after the car has been elgible for import into Canada by the 15 year rule. Then import the car with 7 years left before it is 25 making the car 18 at the time I import it to Canada. I would import it temporary for a year and request to keep it in for up to 5 years if possible. That would only leave 2 years of storage time for the car in Canada. Thats what I was trying to do. My other plan was to just drive it in for a year and drive it back when the time ran out, then turn around and drive it in for a year again. That way I would avoid storage cost all together but bringing the car in and out the country for seven years is impractical too.
Sorry for the long explaination, but now do you get where Im coming from?

I have to say, you sound a lot like celm on other forums that preaches the "legality" of Evolution Imports. And EVERY time when confronted about the use of the "Kit Car" policy, mentions the Noble and 1GRacing who imports them.
That's actually where you are showing that Evolution Imports is illegally selling imported "Kit Cars." This is per EPA's guidelines that you claim Evolution Imports follows:
The production, sale and importation of vehicle parts (engines, transmissions, chassis, vehicle bodies, etc.) are not regulated by EPA because parts are not considered motor vehicles under the Clean Air Act. However if the parts constitute a disassembled vehicle or an approximate disassembled vehicle, the combination is considered a motor vehicle under the Clean Air Act. Any attempt to use this policy to circumvent the Clean Air Act or the Imports regulations will be considered a violation of the Clean Air Act and will be strictly enforced. An example of such circumvention is:
A kit car maker who also provides the engine and transmission before or after production/importation of the body/chassis.
1GRacing is a legal importer/seller of the Noble, and they follow their requirements as such. They DO NOT provide engine/drivetrain because they are not allowed to. Evolution Imports provides the JDM engines, which are not legal and is circumventing the Clean Air Act.
Again, what Evolution Imports does is illegal and anyone should think hard about dealing with a business that has an unsatisfactory BBB rating, especially when dealing with high cost items!

I never said I was an RI because I don’t imports full running cars. I have to tell you 100x already, it’s not illegal to import components .and again just because you have a MX car you think you know everything now. You never imported anything in your life. It’s a legal loop hole and that’s how 1g sells the noble
and please read over this company website.they explain it better on importing a car in components http://www.1gracing.com

Yes I am celm, when your uptight mods hear that you import skylines with out MX...BANNED YOU ARE!!!
I see you don’t really read...And we use the same loop hole as 1g racing and that’s assembled from parts!!. We act as a broker for the customers. And no we don’t sell them the motor, another company does and the shell is actually sold to the customer from a company we use in Japan. You and this kit car crap, the titling company doesn’t title it as a kit car. You want to know why. Cause an individual is allowed to buy parts and assemble/build a car. Each state has that section. I love when you have someone who lives in another country and yes i know you are from the US. But I imported more automobile related stuff then you ever had. I been at this game since mid 90`s importing evo and sti`s for some guys I NY who use to rally race. And retard read box W on the 3520 form, supposedly you know everything so I don’t have to tell you who that forms from. And you want to know why I keep referring back to 1G, a buddy of mine bought a noble and all the paper work stuff he did and all the contracts he signed with company 1 and company 2 (which 1g racing owns the company that sells the motors only under another name) and just the way 1G format is we just followed it

You and this kit car crap, the titling company doesn’t title it as a kit car. You want to know why. Cause an individual is allowed to buy parts and assemble/build a car.
Me and this Kit Car crap?! I'm not the one who tries to use the Kit Car policy to import non-conforming vehicles into the US in parts. That is the "loop-hole" you keep refering to using, so it IS a Kit Car no matter what the title says.
Now, 1GRacing works within the legal limits of the Kit Car policy, which is not a loop hole for them because they perform under the legal limits of that policy. I'm not here to debate where there engines come from or not. They don't install them, which they are not allowed to do under the policy. All of the companies I know of, that provide suitable engines for it, are US emission compliant engines.
As we've been through, I know about box W with EPA, that's for the importation of an engine alone, which doesn't matter, Evolution Imports are providing a completed vehicle. As I'm pointed out, whether you want to call the vehicles Kit Cars on not, the "loop hole" you are using is for the importation of Kit Cars. So they fall under Kit Car regulations... and whether you are an individual or a company, if you assemble the "Kit" for hire or resale, which Evolution Imports does, you're violating the Clean Air Act due to having non-US emission conforming engines:
an individual or firm that assembles kits for hire or resale, that produces assembled kit cars for resale or that produces complete kit car packages for resale will be considered to be a manufacturer of new motor vehicles under the Clean Air Act. Such manufacturers and their vehicles are subject to all applicable regulations under the Act including civil penalties of up to $25,000 per vehicle for each new motor vehicle distributed in commerce, sold, offered for sale, or introduced, or delivered for introduction, into commerce, unless such vehicle is covered by a certificate of conformity issued by EPA.
Additionally, what Evolution Imports (and you) are illegally doing and recommending to customers:
Motor vehicles must comply with the Clean Air Act and may not be disassembled nor purchased in a disassembled form for the purposes of evading the Clean Air Act or the Imports regulations.
Ok, now is when you usually get angry, don't directly answer the issues I've mentioned with fact, but non related importation of an engine alone. Then proceed to call me names, brag about how long and how many illegally imported non-kit cars, but are kit cars for the purpose of importation because that suits you, you have done.
Oh yeah, don't forget to mention that I'm not in the US again, I'm guessing you think that means I shouldn't know the import process, and the legal points of it, better then you.

like i said my credibility on importing is much higher then yours.
and your words dont hurt my business as all,it accualy helps it cause people are curious and they call me and i explain stuff to them.i show them documents, epa, dot customs forms the whole works.i have nothing to hide from them

You're right, the Unsatisfactory BBB rating tells it all. And I must say, the forums do to:
Posted: Fri Apr 02, 2004 on Club 3G:
That place is a scam. Several people put down payments on evos and never saw the cars. A friend of mine was going to buy an Evo VII, but talked to some other customers and changed his mind.
Posted: Feb 11, 2004 on EvolutionM:
i havent ever heard any good comments about them. to many 'i payed and never got a car' or 'i got my car, but cant drive it because they lied' cases.
And right here on Automotive Forums, the last post:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t101576.html
I like the part where you, celm, posted that you were a customer and not a part of the business:
I bought a Evo 7 RSII from evolution Imports.I recommend them hightly. You can get a JDm EVO 8 right now from them at a great price.Call them up and ask for Adam,he`ll take care of ya.Also tell them frank from NY seen ya.
There's lots more! Just search "Adam Burdette" & Evolution Imports together, which interestingly enough, lead me to a 4th address for Evolution Imports:
309 RACHELLE AVENUE, SUITE 634
SANFORD FL 32771
Found here: http://www.sunbiz.org/scripts/cordet.exe?a1=DETFIL&n1=M02000002272&n2=OFFFWD&n3=0001&n4=P&r1=&r2=&r3=&r4=&r5=&r6=&r7=&r8=
Although it's come to my attention that it's likely Apt 634, not a business suite.
Now why would a credible "importer" have 4 different addresses!?
BTW, you can turbo a NA motor, that's what Noble did! That engine was originally NA! Noble beefed up the internals and slapped on a pair of turbos, that's what it means when they call it "Noble Developed."
Additionally, it wasn't a good idea to import the engine, you can get that engine, internals and turbo'd cheaper in the US then purchasing the engine in the UK + shipping, especially with the exchange rate!

Oh, possible interested customers may also like to know that the LLC after Evolution Imports stands for Limited Liability Company, which is:
Type of investment in which a partner or investor cannot lose more than the amount invested. Thus, the investor or partner is not personally responsible for the debts and obligations of the company in the event that these are not fulfilled.
In other words, don't expect to get your money back if the deal goes bad.

I came across some new information anyone interested in purchasing from Evolution Imports should be aware of. Thanks to Senor Info from EvolutionM for the assistance and documents.
Evolution Imports was originally Evolution Motors Limited, Inc.
Same PO Box based business from Orlando, FL, and Adam Burdette, with the following associated addresses:
1255 Belle Ave Suite 176, Winter Springs FL, 32780 407-688-1324
1521 Sunnyside Drive, Maitland, Fl 32751
Now the best part, Evolution Motors Limited became Evolution Imports, LLC on 20th June, 2002. Evolution Imports is a FOREIGN BASED business! Registered and based from the Island of Nevis in the Caribbean: Evolution Imports - Nevis (http://homepage.mac.com/bryroz/Photos/evollc.gif)
Now there's not only the issue of claiming against an LLC if the deal goes bad.
With this scheme if you want to sue the LLC, it must be done in Nevis under Nevis law which means you need a lawyer that's a Nevis citizen, the suit must be filed within 12 months of the "event," and you need to deposit a $25,000 bond with the court.
The same day Evolution Imports applied for a Foreign Limited Liability Company business license in the State of Florida which I had linked to in a previous post: Evolution Imports - Florida Foreign License (http://homepage.mac.com/bryroz/Photos/evollcfla.gif)
http://www.sunbiz.org/scripts/cordet.exe?a1=DETFIL&n1=M02000002272&n2=OFFFWD&n3=0001&n4=P&r1=&r2=&r3=&r4=&r5=&r6=&r7=&r8=
What I didn't notice, is... 1 it's a foreign company license. 2 it was revoked on Sep 26, 2003 for failing to file the required annual report.
Now, here are all the names associated with Evolution Imports:
Adam Burdette
JoAnne Simmons
Frank Mendola
And the addresses:
309 Rachelle Ave, Suite 634, Sanford, FL 32771
(Actually Apartment 634, not a business suite)
322 East Central Blvd, Unit 1713, Orlando, FL 32808
And now 403 flomich street, suite 100, Holly Hills, Fl
So that makes six different addresses, unsatisfactory BBB rating and a revoked Florida FOREIGN business license for a "credible importer."

it seems like someone has a lot of explaining to do, cause it seems like he is getting ripped apart. the records in the BBB is kinda hard to not think about. it seems like 2 out of 6 complaints got resolved. Not a good record. -.- Evolution Import is outta here in my eyes. Kit car or no kit car doesn't seem like people can trust them.

Now, here are all the addresses and names associated with Evolution Imports:
Adam Burdette / JoAnne Simmons 309 Rachelle Ave, Suite 634,
Sanford, FL 32771
(Actually Apartment 634, not a business suite)
322 East Central Blvd, Unit 1713, Orlando, FL 32808
And now 403 flomich street, suite 100, Holly Hills, Fl
So that makes six different addresses, unsatisfactory BBB rating and a revoked Florida FOREIGN business license for a "credible importer."
typical forum flunky with no life...do you have anything recent about US.if your trying to make your self sound like your hot shit when your not,at least get your info right
we are not a LLC any more.were INC and based in the state of FL.get your info straight
