not sure if thats what its called. im guessing that our cd players dont come with a pre out so i want to know how would you hook an amp up with out that. i have no interest in getting rid of my cd player. i love it. when you run a line do you get alot of bad noise mixed in with it even if you have a cross over.

You can find some adaptors that convert the speaker wires over to RCA adapters. Its called a line level converter I beleive. Some amplifiers also have this built right into it. It can be done though. the crossover will only select which frequency to send to each speaker like 80hz and down to a sub, or 80hz and up to the speakers, the crossover will not do anything for clarity or noise. Making sure that everything is run properly will make less noise. Were you just going to power the 4 speakers with the amp???

Yes, a line level converter is what you need. You will also need to install a switched power line to turn the amps on and off since the factory stereo doesn't have a remote line. Other than having to turn your amps on and off seperatly from the stereo (make sure your switched line originates from a switched circuit that shuts off with the ignition so you don't drain your batteries!), this setup works well. We did this in a club members truck and it sounds great! If you are unfamiliar with these things, I might suggest having a professional install it since there are a few more adjustments to make and everything. Good luck!
