Brake swap -is mandatory a Master Cyl swap?mmasse 05-20-2002, 12:32 PM I just swap my rear drum brakes with Integra disks. I also got the master cylinder of the Integra, but it doesn't seems to be too different thatn the one of my Civic DX. Maybe, just a little bit longer. question is: is it necesary to swap the master cylinder at all. Brakes seem to work great now? Thanks CXHatchback 05-20-2002, 12:46 PM I heard that the increased pedal travel isn't too reassuring with that particular swap. I'm getting the same done soon and I'm probably going to swap out the MC and booster. sparq 05-20-2002, 01:13 PM Yup, go with the MC, booster, and do NOT forget the porportioning valve -- or you might as well just burn up $400 you just spent on your rear brakes when they are hardly even being used :finger: CXHatchback 05-20-2002, 01:19 PM check this out: http://www.hybrid-k.com/tech/brake2.html this is the first part: http://www.hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/brakeswap.html liquid8 05-23-2002, 03:23 PM how much does that cost?? a rear disc swap Pilot 05-23-2002, 03:31 PM im just curious but what are the benifits of a rear disk besides looking nice? iLLuCiv99 05-23-2002, 09:54 PM Do ya guys have any opinions on AEM's rear drum-to-disc conversion for the civic ex's? 91AcrdMan 05-24-2002, 11:47 PM got ya'll beat... 94 civic EX-A... meaning my coupe has factory 4 wheel disc breaks. CXHatchback 05-25-2002, 12:45 PM Originally posted by Pilot im just curious but what are the benifits of a rear disk besides looking nice? Helluva lot easeier to change pads as opposed to shoes. And more importantly, they're better than drums. They're stronger so they'll put less strain on the front brakes, evening out the load. Your front discs won't have to work as hard. Pilot 05-25-2002, 01:04 PM ...so thats why my brakes have 10% remaining in front, and 60% in back vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
