98 Trooper wont start

Hey all, new here and I have a question. We have a 98 Trooper Limited. Went to go out and it wouldn't start, like the battery was dead, but all the lights would come on.
All of a sudden there was a clicking noise that was in time with the little alarm light. It would flash on and off and the click would go on and off.
We jumped it and it started for a second, but then the horn went off and wouldn't stop until the battery ran out.
Truck still won't start. I would appreciate any help in getting this fixed. I can't really afford to send to the shop and would love to get it working, it has been sitting for about a month now.
Oh yeah last thing, the check engine light hasn't come on.

Thanks all,
Shawn

sounds like an electrical problem alright. I had a car that did that exact same thing once and it turned out the horn's contacts in the relay were somehow welded together (my guess due to some electrical surge of some sort).

Do this. Disconnect the fuse for the horn , reacharge or replace your battery and see if the truck will start and stay running.
