Unknown warning signal on gauge???wutangteo 10-12-2005, 10:57 AM Hi. A warning signal went on my cavalier gauge, but i don't know what it stands for. Before i ask a mechanic (too worried they might tell me something else to get more money out of me), i wanted to ask the members of this forum. it shows a arrow pointing down and then a wave of lines, think it stands for a particular liquid, or even water maybe. it is located on the right side of the gauge. i have a 2000 cavalier, 2.2 liter. i hope i'll get answers soon cause i have no choice to take this to the mechanic if i don't know what the problem is. maybe i don't even need to take this to the mechanic. Low coolant. There is a level sensor that gets tripped when your coolant becomes too low. Time to top it off and look for leaks. As the bubble heats up, the pressure increases possibly forcing coolant out of the system and back into the tank. As it cools it draws it back in. It may be at that magical spot that is just right where the normal tempature increases (say at a stop light idling) pushes just enough out to trip the light but then cools slightly (say when you start driving again) draws it back in.
