OK i have a 98 323is with the 6 cylinder motor witch i recently had to replace because i blew my last one. I want to know how to prevent this next time because it drained my wallet.

I was allways told its not a high reving motor and i should shift @ around 4000rpms but i push it a litlle harder then that and i allways down shift.

Can sombody that knows please tell me the limits of this motor.

Try shifing at normal rpms like 2000-3000. 4k's stupidly high to drive at everyday. Unless you think your 2 fast and 2 furious theres no need to zoom away from stops.
