I have an F-150, 300 cid, in line six, 1984, with eletronic ignition, single barrel mechanical carburater, equiped with california emmissions junk
it runs fine when cold, but it warms up and losses power, and runs hot
very quickly, has new plugs, fuel filter distributer cap, was told to decommission smog stuff, but now it still runs poorly at warm engine, automatic choke seems to be working, any ideas? is there a carberator replacement for this engine, that does'nt have electronics inside it? possibly? thanks in advance

The EGR system is designed to keep intake temperatures lowered. Is it pinging or knocking? Should be able to find a carb for it at any parts house. On my old mustang with a six cylinder the carb would actually come loose. Take the air cleaner off and try moving the carb by hand. It might be loose and sucking air on you. Try tightening it down. Tighten the carb to intake and the carb screws to.
