I have been told that starting fulid can dammage an engine.
There is no indication of this on the can.It advises easy starts and less wear an tear on the starter and starting system. Can says for use on all types of gasoline and disel engiens.Watdaya think?

Overuse of starting fluid can remove the protective oil coating on the internal metal parts of your engine, including the cam, lifters, cylinder walls, pistons and rings. With that protective coat gone, or severly thinned out, there will be more metal to metal contact between moving parts, and a chance for a "dry start" which can damage your engine.

I have seen pistons and heads with holes in them from starting fluid. Really not a good idea. I only use it for mowers and other little things.
