"02 Explorer EGR Valve issuescarmelo77 10-09-2005, 05:01 PM The "Service Engine Soon" light came on on my '02 Exploder. I hooked up a diagnostic meter from Autozone and got a P1600 fault code (EGR VALVE LOW INPUT). There was a recall for the EGR valve if it failed under 36000 miles. Knowing it was a p.o.s. part, and being at 55000 miles, I replaced the EGR valve and gasket myself then cleared out the fault code. Within a couple of miles the light came back on and a re-test showed P1600 again. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments? Any help is appreciated greatly. Thank you. :banghead: XLT03 10-15-2005, 03:17 AM The "Service Engine Soon" light came on on my '02 Exploder. And any parts that fails under 36000 miles is replaced free of charge...it's called bumper to bumper warranty. I bet if you replace the DPFE sensor, your code and light go away. Anyhow...where does the power input go on an egr valve? MT-2500 10-16-2005, 11:07 AM Have your dealer run your vin no for recalls on it. You should recieved got a 401 recall letter on it A lot of the dpfe sensors were recalled and updated at no charge on them. The dpfe sensor is the main problem on egr valve codes. MT-2500 doneyd67 11-11-2005, 06:55 PM I have been having the same problem with my truck with the egr valve i had it replaced but the light still comes on and even after resetting it, within a few miles the light comes back on. but i will definately take a look at what you said and have the DPFE sensor looked at. srercrcr 11-12-2005, 01:30 PM It seems I recall reading the emissions system is warranted for something like 75,000 miles?
