I just bought a 1998 Clio Grande, which the logbook, data check etc etc etc all say 1.2 on, but the badge on the side trim says 1.4

The dealer said it was a batch of that model that they just badged incorrectly, I just wanted to confirm that this was true really, does anyone know of any source for this?

Its Either Tht Or The Clio U Bought Has Had An Engine Change At Some Point Or The Trim Has Been Changed

Is the trim push-fit? My clio (mk1) has push fit trim, which is easily lost and replaced, and therefore my 1.2 clio has 1.4 trim. Mine was sold to me and they claimed it was a 'batch with incorrect trim' but frankly that's BS.
