My 01 supercrew is shifting funny after rebuild. After going back several times the guy is telling me the neutral switch is causing it this is his guess. Does anyone know if that can cause funny shifting. Heres what it does when it shifts its kinda like if you would push in the clutch change gear then slowly let out on clutch but its automatic. This is a 70 dollar guess so i need output please.

There is no noise just a slow shift only does it mainly from 2nd 2 third doesnt hardly do it when it hammerd but trying 4 gas mileage ive slowed down

The neutral switch also tells the PCM which gear you are in and when to shift. If it started after the rebuild, I would be suspicious of internal clutch clearances being off. You can mark the switch, loosen it a little and re-tighten to see if it helps any. If adjusting the position of the switch cures the problem, replace it. If it does not help, problem is more than likely inside the trans.

Ok when i loostened the two bolts and twisted the module a little then re tightened it shifted a little better for a little then seems to be right back where it was. Im thinking what ur saying is replace it correct.

I think that may be a first step. Or you can have it diagnosed at a trans shop. A lot of big chain shops give free estimates and diagnosis.
