Help with '68 442 'vert w/455SVTcobra306 10-09-2005, 10:26 AM Hi guys... I'm helping a friend out with his car. It's a 1968 442 Convertible. I'm looking for sources for parts for the car. I've already visited YearOne's website and found the boot for his convertible top. We are fixing some tuning issues on the motor as well as an exhaust leak right now. It's a 455 w/an aftermarket cam, Edelbrock Performer intake, and Holley Street Avenger 750 carb, and headers. Trans is an auto. He'd like to go through the motor, get some more power out of it, and wants some shiny goodies under the hood (polished intake, coated headers, etc..). Like I said before, any good parts sources or other help/advice would be appreciated. They are some pretty damn powerful motors. SVTcobra306 10-21-2005, 06:24 PM Not sure of the total mileage on the engine. It's got about 10,000 on a complete rebuild. The motor is definitely strong, it just smoked its second TH400.... Mines69Olds 10-24-2005, 11:16 AM Have you tested it in the 1/4 mile or on a dyno? I'm going to be building my 68' 455 with 58'000 miles on it in a little bit. Hopefully I can get all the parts I need from mondello. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
