Need Help!

On my '96 JGC, my rear liftgate is stuck. When i try to open it nothing happens. I think it could be the linkage arm is broke or stuck. Also the rear window dosent open, or the button dosent work, one of the two. Any suggestions would help. thanks

Is the LOCK stuck, or is the door unlocked and something else is making it stick? If the button doesn't work, try manually unlocking it with the key. If the handle pulls really easily, it's in the locked position. If you feel resistance on the handle but the door doesn't open, then it's jammed. I got a seat belt stuck in a door once and had to really yank it open. Be sure nothing is jammed in the doorway. See if you can separate a MECHANICAL problem from an ELECTRICAL problem.

I have had this problem with my 94 ZJ, what I do to open it is push in on the liftgate, pull the handle and lift open.

If that does work tap on the liftgate next to the handle with a couple good firm hits.
