96 Jetta Starter Replacement Issuesjasondco 10-06-2005, 07:07 PM I recently replaced the starter in my 96 jetta. Upon removal I found no shims. After replacing with a reman the car will start, but the starter will not disengauge and it continues to spin. Tried shimming it and lubrication but still the same symptom. Please help. I took the starter back out and old bushing is still there... but I certainly can't get it out. It doesn't look worn...but who knows. Any suggestions on how to get it out of there would be greatly appreciated. boschmann 10-08-2005, 03:14 PM Screwdriver or small chisel & break it into pieces. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
