lights in air ventsCivR 05-17-2002, 11:28 AM hey, sup. I was chillin at my friends the other day an we were thinking of shit to do to my hatch that would be free mods. And i had these lil blue lights on the interior an he had the idea to move it into the vents. He wired it behind the dash an into the 2 far air vents. it looks so tiite at night when the vents glow blue. i never have seen this on a car (its probley been done) so to me it looks nice and original. dont yell at me if someone else has done it already (please). crxlvr 05-17-2002, 01:52 PM yea in my friends crx he put the blue LED's in his vents and it looks phat. he also has a clear shift boot, and led's under it so it lights up. CraniumDesigns 05-21-2002, 01:20 AM Where can you get these LED's and how do you wire them? Run them through the AC??? crxlvr 05-21-2002, 03:46 PM im not sure how he wired them up, like how he ran the wires or nothing, but you can get the bulbs at any hardware store. TerryJoe 05-22-2002, 02:57 PM u can get some hyper leds to place in the car go to varad.com they dont sell them on the site but u can get them at just about any audio place they sell around were i am at for 8 bucks each Sketch 05-22-2002, 03:02 PM My friend got those stupid strobe lights, and wired them in behind his vents... That looked sweet I must say. CraniumDesigns 05-22-2002, 03:29 PM but how do you wire them? 93speed 05-22-2002, 06:03 PM As far as wiring, most of those lights are the common automotive 12v. You just hook + to + and - to ground. You should probably throw a switch in there or just tap into the parking lights for the +12v so they come on only when your parking lights are on. Switch would be better in case you want to turn them off at night w/o turning off your headlights. CraniumDesigns 05-22-2002, 06:59 PM BUT WHERE DO YOU RUN THE WIRES?!? Through the AC ports? You can't run them over your dash. crxlvr 05-23-2002, 03:56 PM my friend ran his through the dash somehow, not to sure on it tho. DailyDriver 05-26-2002, 11:46 PM i'm hopefully going to try this during the week...anyone have any suggestions? still looking for the best location to run the wires before i have to use the trial and error method. any help is much appreciated. also, what bulb would be best? thanks a lot. crxlvr 05-27-2002, 10:40 AM my friend just used LED lights from radio shack. 89AccordHatch 05-28-2002, 03:37 PM you should try running the wires under the dash to the radio and splice them in there so they only come on when the cars on. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
