I woke up this morning and started my 1996 GMC sonoma and backed out of the driveway, and the clutch went to the floor. Will not let me shift. No resistance at all when I push down on the clutch. It was working for the last 2 days, but before that, I havn't drove this truck for over 1 and 1/2 years. Back then, I had to add trany fluid every month. But no mechanic could find a leak, so I just dealt with it. The trany fluid is completely full. I just blew an engine on a 2001 prism, so I have no money to take to mechanic. Any tip you could give me on what is wrong or how to figure out what it could be the problem I would appreciate it.

Check both your master and your slave cylinders.... Sounds like you might have popped one of the caps on it. If they both look ok and no fluid on them, pull the inspection cover and make sure the fork is still in place.

What do you mean by popped one of the caps? and what the heck is a fork?

The master and slave cylinders have rubber caps on them that retain the pistons. If one of them blew out you will lose your clutch because no pressure will be behind the piston. The fork is your clutch fork...
