I am considering purchasing a 2002 4.7, 4x4, 5 speed manual. How are these with gas mileage and reliability. My folks have an 03 Durango and I know that in 03 dodge went to the disk brake rears. Any input would be a big help to me, thanks

I have a 2000 4.7 4X4 5spd, and it's a great truck!!!

The gas mileage is not bad, I do mostly highway driving and I get 19-21mpg. The 4.7 is a well designed motor with lots of power when mated to a 5spd. I really enjoy driving my Dakota.
