Power seat circuit breakerthe87hyper 10-04-2005, 11:02 AM I have tried all of your suggestions on fixing my power seat. I took the seat out, pulled the carpet up and found nothing wrong. I checked the switch and its fine. I put the seat back in and it works, but if you dont use it the damn thing trips the circuit breaker. If I unplug the seat and plug it back in again it works. Where is this damn breaker... its not in any of the fuse panels and I cant find it under the dash. What could be making the breaker trip..... is the breaker bad? Dead short? Fractured1 10-04-2005, 07:15 PM my power seat on a '96 is protected by a metal fuse located in the fuse panel alondside of the dash..not relly sure if its a fuse or breaker, but thats where its at...I would think you may have a bare wire touching and grounding under your seat for the simple fact when you move the wires (to disconnect and reconect) it works again, or possibly your connection is poor and just the vibration of the blazer wiggles it slightly loose...good luck the87hyper 10-04-2005, 09:30 PM my power seat on a '96 is protected by a metal fuse located in the fuse panel alondside of the dash..not relly sure if its a fuse or breaker, but thats where its at...I would think you may have a bare wire touching and grounding under your seat for the simple fact when you move the wires (to disconnect and reconect) it works again, or possibly your connection is poor and just the vibration of the blazer wiggles it slightly loose...good luck I dont think its a poor connection, I get 12.34V at the plug under the seat. The only problem is the breaker trips for some darn reason, when i unplug the breaker it re-sets the breaker and allows the seat to work for a short period of time before it trips again. I think the breaker may be going. I'd like to replace it but nobody seems to know where the damn thing is!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: LTBlazer97 12-29-2005, 10:36 PM About 2 years ago i was having this problem with Power seat/keyless entry not working. The Fuse would get ultra hot when it was in. Once the fuse cool down id put it in and get power seats and keyless entry for about 1 minute, than nothing. So i started by checking the power seat (on my 97 only the drivers). Went underneath and pulled the controller out and there it was. A frayed wire was grounding on the seat causing my fuse blow issue. Patched up the wires (GM wanted around $30-50 cant remember for the wiring harness, so i just did a thorough wire repair) and i saved the hair on my head. So if anyone is experience this or any other problem related with a fuse blow issue, thats a good place to start. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
