Started this one off last Xmas, and I'm sure I never posted any of the work.:?:

Well I wanted to make a custom racing version, stripped out interior, etc, with engine detail, so the Tamiya kit was the obvious starting point.

I know you can purchase Fujimi/Aoshima kits in racing trim, but fancied doing it myself.

So this is the progress so far, I picked it up again last week and started to do a bit of work again, making a custom oil cooler.

The wheels are from two different Fujimi RS watanabe kits to get the deeper dish on the rears and shallower on the fronts.

The decals were created and printed by myself but, I must thank Kunta for the help with the Japanese Text :bigthumb:

I do hope to finish this one :)

Enjoy :D

When i saw the pic of the box i said to myself ''damn , i'll have to wait before showing mine'' but then i saw you were building the racing version and i was like ''phew!''

Good job so far. I'm always amazed at your putty work

Btw , Could you tell me what technique you used to paint the raised letters on the valve cover ,please.

Awesome flare work, will you inlcude the "rivets"?
What are those tires/slicks from?

The engine looks mighty fine too, great detailing.

You have cost me money...
I just had to buy the S27 transkit to produce the Konimtsu car that uses this Tamiya kit as a base after seeing this. My scratchbuilding skills suck...
Thanks to Dave at Scaleracecars.com for having it in stock and shipping same day.. Way to go....

(Brembo Decals to follow)

Also fabricated a Strut Brace (100% made from Aluminium)

With any luck I'll finish this one for Xmas 2005 :)

Yup, I'll assume by you ignoring my question about the nuts that they are turned aluminum like the rest of the stuff :grinno:

I do have one question, do you airbrush everything?
