Intermittent clicking when breaking?

Theres been this really wierd clicking that I have been having lately...not sure exactly what it is but here is a little history:

1. bought the car in march 2005
2. needed front half shafts, rotors and pads all the way around. Needed tie rod ends, 1 sway bar link...I had firestone replace both.
3. I replaced the front pads/rotors dealer did the back.
4. I STILL HAVE NOT DONE THE HALF SHAFTS...

Now the clicking only occurs when im in the 10-20 mph zone this is why im stumped. ONLY when im breaking, not when im accellerating. I took a look under there today and didnt see anything out of the ordinary. I dont think its wheel bearings b/c its only happening when im braking and I dont have any noticable vibrations in the car. I do notice that the CV boots are ripped and this is what im thinking...that the half shafts are wearing and starting to produce a click. Any Ideas or anyone else have this problem? thanks for the advice guys and gals.

I do believe your problem to be the halfshafts. Have never had these symptoms with CV style joints tho, but the U Joint style halfshafts do do this.

Most of the time when i CV joint goes bad you will hear a clicking while turning.

if you felt it through the pedal and heard a click (rapid clicking) then it is most likely you ABS System. Which is prolly you RING TONE GEARS and/or wheel speed sensor have dirt on them, sense you said your boots were ripped, I would look at the ring tone gear prolly got grease on them and are interfering with the ABS system.
