Heater Control Valve leakdiannapoe 10-01-2005, 05:27 PM I noticed my 2001 Accord was leaking coolant and I couldn't see where it was coming from. I took it to a local repair shop after calling to see if they had a pressure tester, got there and they said theirs was broken (WTF). They put it up on the lift and told me the leak was coming from the heater control valve. Does that sound right? If so, is it something that is easy to get at/replace? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! lorunner 10-03-2005, 07:49 PM you probably mean the water valve. its attached to one of the heatercore hoses. on the passenger side of the car near the firewall. Its just 2 clamps that hold the hoses on and i think 2 10 mm bolts that hold the bracket to the car. The cable just clips in. so i would say its pretty easy. You may have to remove the aircleaner tube. Which if its a 4cyl. than just unclip the upper cover to the air cleaner and unscrew the clamp on the throttle body and pop off 1 vaccum line and remove it. When you fill it up. there is a bleader screw. follow the lower radiator hose back to the engine. You will see on the watter neck where it connects to a 12 or 14mm hex with a nipple on the top of it. crack it loose and you will see air come out then coolant. close it and fill the radiator up the rest of the way and you should be fine. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
