Water leak-Plymouth Voyaerkrickl 10-01-2005, 12:02 PM I have a 93 Plymouth Voyager that is losing water. I can see that it is leaking from, what looks like a metal pipe, near the back of the engine which is connected to a hose and returns to the radiator. I am assuming that the metal has corrosion. The transmission is new, engine has 160K, but aside from the water loss, the van runs great! I am not sure if this is fixable at a reasonable rate or if I should get rid of the van. It has been used now for my kids to drive back and forth to work about 6 miles a day. I am just not sure what the part would be; maybe a heater coil??? Any assistance would be appreciated. Lin dmcollazo 10-01-2005, 12:08 PM i have a 96 T & C that has the same exact problem. if you go from under the car you can access the hoses. I believe it is the one to the heater core. krickl 10-01-2005, 02:24 PM i have a 96 T & C that has the same exact problem. if you go from under the car you can access the hoses. I'm not a mechanic so, I guess it's just the choice to either fix the problem or sell the vehicle as is. waltham41 10-01-2005, 11:14 PM It shouldn't be that big a deal to fix once you find exactly where the leak is. Much better a leak in a pipe or hose than the engine itself. If it is a metal pipe and you can see exactly where its leaking you can do all sorts of repairs..... JB Weld, cut the pipe and put a piece of rubber hose on with clamps etc. Lots of things can be done besides take it to the dealer and spend big bucks. I had 3 water leaks on my 92 Caravan when I bought it but once I figured out what was going on and fixed them I haven't lost a drop since. krickl 10-02-2005, 09:38 PM Thank you, that really makes me feel a lot better. The van has been great for me, and, knock on wood, the only major work has been the transmission 2 years ago at 153,000. It's been a good vehicle and it would be nice to get another year out of it. Thanks again for the info. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
