Rear brake pads wearing fastNaomi199 09-30-2005, 01:56 PM I got a 320i (only available in Canada). It is automatic. After one and a half year of use (for about 15,000 km or 9,300 miles), the dealer service told me that the rear brake pads are totally worn out. The brake pads were brand new when I bought the car. I feel that this is happening a bit too fast, compared with other cars I previously owned. Similar thing happened to the previous owner. I am not sure if it is related to poor driving habit, or there is a problem with the car. E46 owners, how often do you replace the brakes? Thanks. 91HO305TPI 10-02-2005, 10:10 AM thats too fast sound as if your rear calipers are sticking and thus holding pads against rotor have you done a maintenec brake flush. if not try that first and monitor pads if they are still wearing fast replace rear calipers and chack again is car still in warrinty? 91HO305TPI 10-02-2005, 10:11 AM pads normally last about 30k miles. Naomi199 10-03-2005, 01:03 PM The car just passed the warranty period. The dealer replaced both the rotors and brake pads, costed me $300 Cdn :( The front pads still got 60% left. I will ask someone to check it out. Thanks for the reply. tedmacwpg 10-03-2005, 02:52 PM Let me know who the dealer is so that I can stay away from them... Wouldn't any responsible dealer suggest some troubleshooting with stats like that, as opposed to just replacing them and sending you on your merry way? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
