I was towing a trailer through some gravel and used 4 Low. When I shifted in or out of reverse there was a very loud bang. I used 4 High also but didn't notice anything. I have a 94 Sport, 4.0L.

Ideas?

It could just be your drive shaft. Get under the car and grab it. Try to turn it back and forth. If it turns a little its not bad but you may need to have your u-joints replaced. It happened with my moms and my friends.

check your ring and pinion. :2cents:
