Tires for my RAV

I own a 2003 RAV. Didn't opt for AWD. Live in Cleveland and we get a lot of snow. My RAV slides, especially sideways when making a turn, all over the place in snow. I have the original tires. Can anyone recommend good tires that would help the car have more traction? Thanks.

You have to be careful when taking a turn with fwd car in snow. As the tail has less weight on it than a rear drive car, the tail on fwd car will tend to swing out easily if taking a turn too fast. I experienced that with my first fwd car. That said, I don't have any specific tire make or model but would avoid high performance all season tires that are speed rated above an "S" rating. I find in general that the higher the speed rating of a tire, the worse it will perform on snow and ice.
