Hello all, I hardly ever use the 4wd but Katrina caught me at deer camp and the roads got bad. It is a aqueaky almost metal on metal noise only in 4wd at any speed. Underneath I noticed a rubber boot missing from the driveshaft from transfer case to front differential on the joint nearest the transfer case. All fluid levels check OK. Is this a common problem ? How difficult to repair ? How expensive for this part ? Just the joint or the whole shaft ?

Thanks

I had a similar problem, then it got progressively worse. the shroud over the front drive shaft was loose, dodge replaced the whole drive shaft.
