I have a problem where may brake lights don't work. Everything else works.(Back-up, turn signals and tail lights.) I checked the bulbs they all look good. I also check all the fuses, look good. The cab brake light works. Followed the wires the whole length of the harness from front to rear, found no problems.

I've seen bulbs that look good, that aren't. So this is where I would start
We should all carry at least 1 spare bulb anyways, so this won't cost you extra.

start at the base of the break peddle, and work you way up untill you find it

I would start looking at the brake light switch itself since everything else works... As to where the safety neutral switch is, it's actually on the side of the transmission, unlikely culprit in my opinion. Again though, check the brake switch at the top of the pedal.

^excuse me, rlith, you are correct, and i was thinking correctly, but saying the wrong switch... break switch, he would of found it, but had the wrong name... sorry

The cab brake light works, is there two seperate switches? I would think that, if the brake light switch was bad, the cab light wouldn't work either. I haven't checked the switch yet, I crawl under, where the brake pedel is and I didn't see a switch. Looks to be a pretty tight area to work. I hope someone could put me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Mike

When i first got my S-10 I was having the same problem. I took it to my local mechanic and he couldnt find the problem either. So he had it sent to the local dealership and they had it for a few days. The problem was a relay or a circuit board next to the head lamp. I live in AZ so the summer heat beating down on my black truck just fried it.
