I just purchased a 95 monte carlo, and it needs tranny work. My question is, how do I easily find if I either have a 4t60e or a 4t65e tranny? I am pretty sure I have a 4t60e, but not 100% positive. Before I buy a overhaul kit, I need to make sure. Thanks

i would say it's a 4T60E, given the year, but the easiest way to tell [and quickest] is to look for the electrical connector going into the trans, if it's pointing towards the front of the car, it's 4T60E, it it points towards the drivers side inner fender area, it's a 4T65E. should be a 4T60E.
