rear gate problems

My rear gate will no longer stay up when opened. Is this something I can fix on my own or do I need to replace anything. Also, when driving, there is a ton of squeaking noise coming from that area. Any thoughts on that? much appreciated. Thx.

Not sure about the squeeking but the stayup problem is fixed by new gas cylinders.....

Most auto parts places have them...
