Hi all! Thanks for helping me with all my question btw ;)

Next question: Near the transmission stick, in the car where it says P R N D 3 2 1 etc.. there's a small button that you can forward or back and it says lock or something.. what is it? and what does it do? thanks :D

I beleive it is so you can shift out of park if you have no power

it sounds like the shift lock overide...97 Regal...mine has a small cap to remove...then a key is used to release lock...02' may have the spring loaded slide switch...same effect...
