I am wondering what are the average monthly service costs on a Bimmer. My friend at work tells me that whenever something goes bad on one these cars, you have to replace the whole thing such as the brakes you gotta replace the lines, brake pads, and the rotors. Is my friend full of hog wash or is this really true. I am thinking about getting a second car, and I am definetly considering a bimmer.

A friend of mine has a 2000 325i, and the rotors do have to be replaced with the pads on these cars ($1000 +). When she bought her car, the brakes weren't covered with the warranty, however, the new BMW warranty supposedly covers everything including the brakes (I guess she bought hers too early)! Nothing else has gone wrong with the car.
I would imagine if you get a used BMW with no warranty, repair costs could get expensive.
