For 3 years, my Jeep has started in exactly the same manner:

It would start fine, rev up immediately to about 1200rpm for 1 or 2 seconds, then drop down to about 300rpm.

Over the last month, it's been slowly getting weaker and weaker on the initial start. Now it doesn't surge at all, but seems to barely start, and slowly struggles its way up to 300rpm where it idles low until I give it gas.

I'm worried that in another week or two, it won't start at all.

clean you IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE and Throttle Body.

I had an issue with my IAC valve and throttle body last winter. Makes sense that this might be a similar issue, since it's been almost a year since I cleaned it, and the temperature outside is starting to drop.
