Orange McLaren F1 in Atlanta?teflon 09-16-2005, 12:04 PM This is a post from another forum: I found this car in Atlanta. The fellow who owned it was a meticulous collector. When I got to his house, he has six garages (3 each facing each other with a common motorcourt). I got there and in the garage with the F40 was an F50 and a Maserati convertible. We walked from that garage across the driveway to the opposite side and the other three garages. I walked inside the garage, and there sat a McLaren F1 (Orange), an Enzo, and a Gallardo. We fired up the Enzo and the McLaren and they are truly amazing machines (the McLaren is just the ultimate, no question). In fact, I was supposed to go back down there and drive the McLaren and Enzo when I picked up the F40, but I arranged for enclosed transport and having a standing invitation to return any time to drive the ultimate road car. When I do, you'll be sure to get the narrative of THAT experience. best of all, this guy was totally cool and completely at ease with his toys....truly a gentleman. He chooses to remain anonymous, and I'll respect that... Any thoughts on this? Greg A Peloton25 09-16-2005, 01:52 PM There is someone on another forum claiming that he met someone (young) that claims to own an F1 LM that he keeps in the Atlanta area. I don't necessarily believe that story yet, but the one you tell has some odd parallels. Can you possibly show this person a shot of #038, #073 and one of the converted GTRs or LM3 and see if they can tell you which car it looks most like? We assumed that when #038 showed up at that show in Houston that Dan Kennedy no longer owned it. The new owner may be Alfredo Brener. #073 is owned by Don Wallace of Tampa, FL at last report. I wouldn't think he would sell that car already, but maybe someone made him a sweet offer. There's also a report that GTR #07R is here in the USA now. It hasn't materialized in any photographs, but that doesn't mean the story is false. In fact, if the story I found proves to be true, then I suspect that the car it references may be #07R. See what you can dig up though. >8^) ER McLaren F1 Guy 09-16-2005, 04:15 PM Dang, and I was just in Atlanta. :banghead: WX3 09-16-2005, 05:11 PM I'm not sure if thise is the one you're talking about, but there is an Orange GTR for sale and I believe it's in the US. Lemmie look into and get back to you on that... Peloton25 09-16-2005, 08:26 PM The orange GTR that is supposed to be here in the USA somewhere and for sale is #07R. The ad is listed here: http://www.carclassic.com/stock.asp?StockID=101104 Not quite sure what to make of it though. CarClassic is a listing service that can put you in touch with the proper contacts. They don't actually own the cars they have listed and at times their info/photos are not accurate. >8^) ER futilepursuit 09-17-2005, 12:00 AM If I could get more info, I might be able to check this out, as I live in Atlanta. Heck, it will give me an excuse to buy a new digital camera. ;) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
