Your main gas line that comes in has probably started leaking. the o ring or the retainer that is bolted on by one bolt has gone bad. The gas line comes in right next to the power steering pump on the intake 4dr92cavi4cyl 09-15-2005, 01:12 PM The OEM/stock o-rings suck, they are a little too thin. I remember having a leaky injector for months after paying someone to fix it. So I spent some time doing it myself. My #4 injector was leaking, when I took it out I noticed the o-ring was only half-way on, and since it had been this way for awhile it was permanently pinched. The trick is, there is a notch on the injector, where the o-ring goes, that is a slightly smaller diameter than above or below the notch. When installing the injector they can jump over this notch to the larger diameter and it makes the o-ring bigger, which should prevent the injector from going in all the way, but they give a little. I used some cheap black o-rings (hardware store) that are the same inside/outside diameter but are slightly thicker rubber and somewhat stiffer. They are harder to install, but with a little gas on them and a twisting motion while inserting they will fit, tight! No more leaks! Just make sure it's turned the right way when you stop, lol. After replacing #4, #1 started leaking, so I did the same with that one and haven't had any leaks for over a year. The #2 is the hardest to get to, with the throttle body being right there. I found it easier to remove the throttle cable assembly as well as the breather hose. Be careful removing the retainer, if the system is under pressure it will blow one of the injectors out and you may get fuel in your eyes, like the mechanic that worked on mine. Don't forget about the lower o-ring, they are very small and easy to loose, sometimes they get stuck in the fuel rail. These injectors aren't cheap, ~$80 new. 9 times out of 10 it's the upper o-ring that leaks. dominoid8 03-25-2007, 08:26 PM I have a 94 Chevrolet Cavalier Rs and done alot of stuff to it,but nothing other than replacing origional equipment, its got over 181,000 miles and Hope I can get it over 500,000 Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
