does the 93 grand cherokee limited with the jensen stereo in it have a stock amplifier? is so where at? I installed a pioneer headunit and it like skips, it isn't the radio it does it with my sony xplod too, it isn't the cd because it does it with the radio, plus according to the display, it is playing just no sound at times, it is getting really irritating

if your jeep has an amp it would be under the rear seat behind the drivers seat. next to your tire jack

Your ZJ had a JENSEN stereo in it from the factory?

if so, I don't think it has the AMP, the AMPs came with the Infinity Gold systems in the limited, 94 and above, not sure about your 93. But like teemsta said it would be under the rear passenger seat (driverside), just lift up on the lil tab to access it.

I don't see anything under the seat but a small black box prolly 2x3 inches big, and a wiring harness.

Mind says the same thing. Guess we have the oldest ZJ's on the block. Do u have a single button alarm remote too? Anyway i have an amp under the rear left passsenger seat. That box u are watching is ABS related i think. The amp is much larger, cant miss it.

I don't see anything under the seat just that small box thing, I'm assuming it had the one button remote, the previous owner had the alarm disconnected, I guess it is still in there which brings me to another question, would anyone know how to hook the alarm back up? I have an aftermarket system that I would like to install but, I can't seem to get the door locks to work, they unlock but won't lock, the relays are both good, the fuse is ok... how would I hook it up the the stock door locks? through the door switch? or would I need some fancy relay assembly?

ur better of without the alarm. check to see if ur chime module is disconected below the steering column area. (Maroon box with speaker holes). Do u hear the dinging when u open ur doors, if not the most likely its disconnected, this causes u to lose power locks. If u want u cant get a new one and plug it back in, BUT make sure u get a remote cause once u press that lock button the alarm will arm. It wont be pretty to hear it goin off and u cant cut it off. The previous owner probably had good reason not to use the alarm, KEEP THAT IN MIND.

I talked to the previous owner, and his comment was that he lost the remote and didn't get a new one, so he had the dealer disconnect the alarm... dosn't sound right to me n e one else?
