My 94 Regal Custom 3800 has developed a stutter. It starts right up and runs pretty smooth at cruising speed but when I step on the gas it bogs and bucks. The condition seems to be worsening with time. Acceleration to cruising speed is getting jerky.

Thanks,
Ray

Sounds like an engine misfire, bad coil, wire, plug? This needs on the spot diagnosis, poor fuel pressure fuel, filter restricted. Some one has to drive this to feel it, then determine if is ignition or fuel, lots of possibilities.

Sounds like fuel issue. Check rail pressure with a fuel pressure gauge and make sure it's within 45-55psi.

Thanks, found bad plug wire (#2). Replaced all wires, runs smooth. I think I may have contributed to this problem. My prsent method for oil filter removal and replacement is from the top (laying on the motor). Cylinder 2 is closet to the fighting and cursing and burnt arms. Is there another way to replace the filter?

Thanks again,
Ray

I've always found it easiest to change the oil filter by going through the front right wheel well. You'll need to turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and jack up the front passenger side of the car. Mine is a '95 GS w/3800. Yours should even be easier than mine because the Gran Sports have lower ride height.
