Where do you charge the AC unit on a 1997 Chevy Lumina?MKott 09-14-2005, 06:22 PM The only valve I can find is a screw on type valve and that valve is sorta hidden between the serpentine belt near the top of the engine. I know the screw on valve shows that it's an R-12 system. But everything I have searched shows that this car uses R-134 refrigerant. The only thing I can think of is that this is not the correct valve to charge the a/c. I have been looking all over the internet trying to find the location of the valve to charge the A/C. Any help at all would really be appreciated. aliazhar 09-14-2005, 06:35 PM Under the airfilter box....on the side of the car battery.... there are two aluminium hoses with charging tap on it....the below one is the one you use for charging a/c. to get better access, i suggest removing the airfilter box. Best Regards Thank you very very much. I was told by someone else the valves were located next to the fire wall. The valves were exactly where you said they would be. thanks again. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
