The trimwork on either side of the roof of my jetta is dry rotted. It looks like it's actually two parts. A metal part that provides structural support and allows it to clip to the little white platic clips in the roof channel. The rubber part looks like it slides into the metal part and should be replacable. VW wants nearly $300 per side. I've been told that it is only for decoration, but I think it might affect wind noise. If the rubber part is replacable, where can you get it?
Thanks

Try a local junkyard, you can get good parts for cheap there usually then use something like gorilla glue to keep it in.
