custom turbo for 98 lude SHbrads94accord 05-11-2002, 02:08 PM ok me and my friend are planning on turbo'ing his 98 prelude SH, ive made a list of the things we'll need and if y'al could give me some good websites with cheap prices for these parts that would be great, and also let me know if i left anything out we would need. Drift your help would be great since you have done this yourself.heres the list of things so far: 1. Turbo itself (probably going to purchase a mitsubishi turbo off ebay) 2. exhaust manifold (one that will fit the four bolt mitsu pattern) 3. Greddy intercooler kit 4. BOV (blow off valve) 5. intake pipe and filter 6. all fittings and fasteners 7. new plugs and plug wires to give a better spark for the turbo 8. new fuel pump, but not sure if i need that (he already has aem fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator, could we just turn up the psi of fuel with the regulator?) 9. manual boost controller 10. vacum lines 11. boost guage 12. air/fuel ratio guage 13. intake temp guage 14. triple guage pod 15. downpipe 16. 2.5 inch catback exhaust thats about all that is coming to my mind right now lemme know if i left anything out. thanks drift 05-11-2002, 03:48 PM i've got my whole system up for sale on ebay if you wanna make it easy :D my total price on the auction is cheaper than buying each part at retail. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1826930483&r=0&t=0&showTutorial=0&ed=1021488618&indexURL=0&rd=1 brads94accord 05-13-2002, 03:52 PM Originally posted by drift i've got my whole system up for sale on ebay if you wanna make it easy :D my total price on the auction is cheaper than buying each part at retail. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1826930483&r=0&t=0&showTutorial=0&ed=1021488618&indexURL=0&rd=1 i showed that to him and he wanted to buy it bad, but he won't have the money for another couple of weeks. brads94accord 05-19-2002, 12:18 PM ok folks, i just bought a turbo off ebay for 386 shipped. its an IHI or borg-western or something like that. they say it puts out more boost thena a t3. it seems to have the same 4 bolt pattern to attach to the manifold that t3 does, so now i need to know where to get an exhuast manifold from and for less than like 300$ im thinking somewhere in the range of $200-$250. can anyone give me some places that sell manifolds for preludes? i think the next purchase is gonna be an intercooler kit. probably a greddy kit. drift 05-19-2002, 12:52 PM no one sells a manifold for less than $400. Revhard has one for $400, as does Drag. Greddy doesnt sell their manifolds separately at this time. i can build one, but it may take a couple weeks before I have time to weld it together. it's about $300 for standard steel, $400 for stainless, depending on any extra modifications to fit a Prelude. brads94accord 05-19-2002, 04:35 PM Originally posted by drift no one sells a manifold for less than $400. Here you go dude, get your header http://turbo-performance.com/Products/Headers/all_headers.htm Your Down pipe http://turbo-performance.com/Products/Downpipes/all_downpipes.htm $545 for bolth. brads94accord 05-25-2002, 12:31 AM Originally posted by Protek Here you go dude, get your header http://turbo-performance.com/Products/Headers/all_headers.htm Your Down pipe http://turbo-performance.com/Products/Downpipes/all_downpipes.htm $545 for bolth. hey thanks man, i might just buy those, the turbo i bought needs a custom flage made so i may buy those and get a custom flange welded on. EightOhOne 05-25-2002, 03:00 PM just be sure to use those brackets to support the mani, or its gonna crack. Equal length is much better than the log style that maxrev uses though GSteg 05-27-2002, 03:36 PM Originally posted by brads94accord 16. 2.5 inch catback exhaust turbo + 2.5" catback= weak turbo response. i say go with a full 3" catback to maximize its potential. 2.5 seems rather too small for force induction. brads94accord 05-27-2002, 11:15 PM Originally posted by GSteg turbo + 2.5" catback= weak turbo response. i say go with a full 3" catback to maximize its potential. 2.5 seems rather too small for force induction. well, then i might just do 3" catback, and have it crush bent since no one around here i can find mandrel bends stuff. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
