Maybe theoretical, but probably not aerodynamical feasible. Look at what Bugatti had to do to the Veyron. -FROG- 12-01-2005, 10:16 AM I seriously doubt the 255 mph. Maybe theoretical, but probably not aerodynamical feasible. Look at what Bugatti had to do to the Veyron. I doubt anyone would post that MPH for the car unless it has been proven. It was proven, so yes, it's true. Jaguar D-Type 12-02-2005, 10:43 PM I seriously doubt the 255 mph. Maybe theoretical, but probably not aerodynamical feasible. Look at what Bugatti had to do to the Veyron. The Veyron weighs over 4,000 pounds. Viper would not post that MPH for their production car unless it has been proven. It was proven, so yes, it's true. From the direct source: Hennessey Venom 1000 Twin Turbo SRT Coupe (http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/hennesseyperformance/ItemDetail.php?Item_ID=238&cart=MuZzSsNa&DoThis=Dodge+Viper+SRT+Coupe+%282006%29&ActionReq=Where) BigG123 12-04-2005, 12:39 PM Amazin car!!! And yes 255 MPH is possible. xfeejayx 12-16-2005, 05:32 PM its soo freakin sexy. i believe 255. Bugatti has more weight, and probably more downforce, which is why you have to set it to top speed mode and make the rear wing drop a little. All the people that knock on viper displacement should know that the very displacement they can't stand is what keeps the torque on this viper comin, allllll the way to 255!! You think 1000 hp is a 1000 hp is a 1000 hp??? NOPE! 1000 hp with 1100 ft/lb tourque means more MPH than 1001 hp with 922 ft/lb. http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=19&article_id=10108&page_number=5 Jaguar D-Type 12-16-2005, 09:36 PM A Hennessey Venom 1000 Twin Turbo SRT10 went through one mile in 25.6 seconds at 210.2 mph during a recent Road & Track test. http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/image/2005/812200512137.jpg http://www.supercars.net/gallery/119513/2/39.jpg John Hennessey http://www.supercars.net/gallery/119513/2/53.jpg http://www.supercars.net/gallery/119513/2/47.jpg sv650s 12-26-2005, 06:26 PM seriously sucks for the people who preordered the veyron, i mean something faster, better looking and even as cheap as a f430! the only bad thing is the limited production so they're probably gonna specially choose people like ferrari with the enzo . i have a friend that loves the veyron and hates dodge's, he's gonna cry when he hears this. xfeejayx 12-27-2005, 01:58 AM well, a few mph doesn't make it a better car. if you read automobile magazine's review of the veyron (http://automobilemag.com/reviews/coupes/0511_bugatti_veryon/) they were quite impressed. the venom might be able to pull that speed, but doesn't mean it can stay there (cooling issues maybe?), or keep you planted at those speeds. plus, those with veyrons probably buy it just to say they have veyrons, and have othing else to spend their money on. i wish someone would do a full review of the venom so we can actually compare more about the two than just one number, but that's probably not gonna happen since there are so few. But if you have friends that are fans of the buggatti, i'd burst their bubble too :-D Jaguar D-Type 12-27-2005, 09:34 PM Check the link for Road & Track's test of the Hennessey Venom 1000 Twin Turbo Viper. It took 1st place. (the new Coupe should be even faster) http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?section_id=7&article_id=2572&page_number=15 AvAlAnChE1090 12-29-2005, 01:36 AM Many people say that Hennessey are just a bunch of liars (because they got caught lying on a previous speed test). EXAMPLE! Sportbikes.Net - Downfall of John Hennessey http://www.sportbikes.net/archives/forums/showthread.php?t=62350 CarAndModel.Com - John Hennessey Officially SCREWED! http://www.carandmodel.com/forums/showthread.php?mode=hybrid&t=2486 The performance on this car: power 745.7 kw / 1000 bhp @ 5000 rpm Top speed 410.4 kph / 255 mph 0 - 60 mph 2.9 seconds 0 - 100 mph 5.9 seconds Now the stryker (which is has a Twin Turbo) is pushing somewhat what, about 2000 hp? The times it got was somewhat similar. But then again, the Hennessey is nitrous assisted. You can either believe them or not, either way, IT'S FAST ! BigG123 12-29-2005, 06:54 AM We'll I Disagree I think Hennessey is ok. And is SVSi TT RS with the 1800 HP+ street legal? BigG123 12-29-2005, 07:02 AM BigG123 12-29-2005, 07:33 AM AvAlAnChE1090 12-29-2005, 03:33 PM Um the SVS is not street legal, nothing near street legal. I think it could be a scam, since they have been caught before, hence the articles I posted. BigG123 12-29-2005, 10:13 PM yes it is! garret_the_driver 12-29-2005, 10:56 PM I love that black 1000TT. As for the scam/lying stuff, take the car to bonnevile and test it. AvAlAnChE1090 12-31-2005, 03:16 AM We'll never know until we see them time slips on a vid or something. Samurai75007 01-06-2006, 09:33 PM God that’s sick, there a real bitch to drive stock sometimes much less with 900+HP, when I worked for dodge I drove around a hundred vipers but maybe only twenty or so over 600HP. Jaguar D-Type 01-09-2006, 05:04 AM 2006 Dodge ASC Viper Diamondback Concept Source: Dodge The American company ASC (American Specialty Cars) showed its creative expertise at the 2006 North American International Auto Show by unveiling a supercar made even more super by the addition of a mostly carbon-fiber body. A "snake" with an all-new skin, the ASC Viper Diamondback is super-light and super-fast. It’s fitting that ASC, which helped the Chrysler Group bring the new Dodge Viper SRT10 coupe to life, would, with the aid of McLaren Performance Technologies, show how the Viper coupe might be taken to an all-new level of “extreme.” The 615 bhp Viper Diamondback features a carbon fiber roof, deck lid, rockers, fascia inserts, body trim and a massive OmniCarbon hood that shows off ten unique trumpeted air intakes, with individual port throttles, peeking through - a McLaren Performance Technologies feature reminiscent of McLaren Can-Am [sports car racing series of the 1960s and 1970s] engines of the past. The hood also shows off compression-molded carbon fiber. It’s displayed beautifully, with a broad, clearcoated racing stripe down the Artic White-painted expanse, subtly outlined by “Viper Blue” and “McLaren Red” pinstripes. In all, ASC removed about 85 lbs. of weight from the vehicle - including cutting the weight of the hood by nearly half versus the production model. Taken together with the powertrain modifications by McLaren Performance Technologies, the power-to-weight ratio was increased, resulting in an estimated increase in 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds. http://www.mclarenperformance.com/eportal/ http://seriouswheels.com/pics-2006/2006-ASC-Diamondback-Viper-McLaren-Hood-1280x960.jpg http://seriouswheels.com/pics-2006/2006-ASC-Diamondback-Viper-McLaren-SA-1024x768.jpg http://seriouswheels.com/pics-2006/2006-ASC-Diamondback-Viper-McLaren-RA-1024x768.jpg http://seriouswheels.com/pics-2006/2006-ASC-Diamondback-Viper-McLaren-RA-Top-1280x960.jpg http://seriouswheels.com/pics-2006/2006-ASC-Diamondback-Viper-McLaren-Drawing-1280x960.jpg http://www.supercars.net/gallery/119513/330/11610.jpg http://www.theraceforum.com/images/forum/2788-17-3.jpg http://www.supercars.net/gallery/119513/330/11613.jpg http://www.supercars.net/gallery/119513/330/11614.jpg http://www.theraceforum.com/images/forum/2788-16-3.jpg Samurai75007 01-09-2006, 04:41 PM Nice...
